Freeze Brand: "Warmblood brand?", August 3, 2010: Q: A stable owner who works with a local rescue in VA has just received a very thin large bay horse with a freeze brand of a circle with an arrow in it on his left hindquarters near the stifle. Can anyone identify this brand?  THD: Does anyone recognize this brand? Does anyone know of a club or stable putting on playdays in driving distance of Corpus Christi? San Patricio Riding & Roping Club at Welder Park in Sinton about 35 minutes from downtown Corpus Christi and 15 minutes from the city line. Email: SPCRRC@gmail.com. Also on Facebook. 2.) Gulf Plains Cowboy Church of Kingsville , open shows held at the Richard Borchard Fairground Arena (covered) in Robstown (20 minutes from downtown CC) the first Sunday of every month. 3.) Cowboy Fellowship of San Patricio County hold their events at the San Patricio Fairground Arena in Sinton one weekend a month. 4.) Cross Trails Cowboy Church of Orange Grove is a little farther away. 5.) Brush Country Cowboy Church near George West area (about an hour and fifteen minutes from downtown CC) holds a little circuit. They just built a new church building & brand new outdoor arena. Also, Jay's Nest Farm in Odem, TX, is starting to put on regular Open Shows and Playdays. THD placed her horses photo and contact information on the web. A: Her horse was recovered. Team Penning: "On a Business Trip from Australia", Jun 12, 2010: Q: Hello, I am coming from Australia to San Antonio in December this year between the 3rd and the 12th to attend a health conference. While I am in town I would like very much to watch some team penning and/or a rodeo. Can you advise if there may be any of these events on in San Antonio at that time?. Thank you THD: I am sorry to say that the Team Penning organizations have their national finals in November and little is going on in December. If you go to the US Team Penning association website there is nothing listed after November, 2010. http://www.ustpa.com/. Maybe a local arena will have some competition. I will have to check closer to the time. Links break sometimes, hopefully all those sites will now reference your page correctly. Yes, do a google search for cavaletti plans, make your own, etc. and you come up all over the place! He owned a large farm close to 400 acres and he wanted to know if horse people were looking for places to trail ride. I put him in touch with the local area trail riding association and he was very appreciative. |
